So my new Express store card arrived (hey, one of my denials stated I didn't have enough retail credit) and I follow the directions on the little sticker to call and 'register/activate' it..

Once the auto process is near complete, you hear that you're being transferred to a live agent who starts a sales pitch for some kind of card guard/protection that only cost $1.99 per $100 bal at the close of each billing cycle..

CS: (goes through the opening sales pitch noted above)

Me: I don't think so, but thank you for offering.

CS: It's only $1.99/$100 blah blah, and god forbid if you were to become disabled, it would cover your payments....

Me:  I'm already 100% P&T disabled, how much more can I get?

CS:  But if that happen, it would pay off your cards ENTIRE BALANCE for you!

Me: The CL is $250 ?!..

CS: Silence

Me: Silence

CS: BAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA

Me: ~blush~

CS:..

Me: bye ~click~

Now THAT is the funniest thing I have read all day. Thumbs up for slaying that sales pitch.

I had time. Let them go through the entire thing.  I sort of feel rude cutting them off at the beginning, and sort of feel bad leading them on and getting their hopes up, but I consider it training for them Smiley Wink

OMG, I am sorry but that is funny.  I have 2 accounts that have lower credit lines, Infamous target card at 200, and American eagle which was 150 for 4 years.

Maybe I could get some of that fancy insurance  Smiley LOL
