Surprise Unsolicited CLI from Cap One!

So I got a Cap One MasterCard in Nov. 2012. Accompanying paper work described credit steps yada yada. That was ok with me. Today I login to see if a purchase posted and there it was..CLI from 500 to 2000. I know lots of people have had success after contacting EO but this was totally unsolicited by me. I checked acct history and I have only had four statements. Wonder what if I'll still get the step increases? (Greedy me) Just wanted to share this surprising good new from Cap One.

If you received it in November, wouldn't May be your 6th statement( December, Jan., Feb, March, April, and May). If so, seems like that was your 6 month 'credit step' increase.

I don't believe I've ever seen a credit step jump up that much. I could be wrong though.

There have been others on here that were expecting a $250 increase and received more...likely because the exec office has been flooded with unhappy customers and poor Richard receiving all of those emails..lol :smileywink:

Re: Surprise Unsolicited CLI from Cap One!

Went back and counted in statement history . In my excitement, just counted the number of statements. And saw only four listed. sorry. I always thought the CLI with steps came on 7th statement. That really wasn't the surprising part of the CLI anyway---It was that I expected whenever step increase came it would be 250.00 not a 1500 bump.
Didn't know they sometimes did increases like this on this type of card. so, just felt like sharing that news. From much of what I've read on here, I never really expected much from this card CLI wise. It was going to be just a means to an end and it really has. Already have credit lines many l times this after just a short time.

Damn... Congrats! Mine went from $300 to $500 with the credit steps. WooHoo! I'll be going the EO route at the 1 year mark this July, shooting for a 4x CLI to $2k. ~kn

Re: Surprise Unsolicited CLI from Cap One!

They have 2 credit step programs 4 statements and 7 statements

Re: Surprise Unsolicited CLI from Cap One!

I obtained my card in October at a $500 limit with a letter that stated on the 6/7th statement I would see $250 CLI. I logged in and it went to $2k so it must be something new.
