Congrats! I tried 3x CLI and it was approved. You might want to try it also.

Some people get in with AMEX after 5 years.  I filed in JAN2011 and discharged JUN2011.  So this month makes 5 years since the filing.  I will apply to Delta Gold on 01FEB16 to test the 5 year blackllist theory.  I did not IIB AMEX.

I did IIB Discover for about $20K but I really do not have a want or need for their card.

LOL. No need to....after having used it for $20K Smiley Very Happy

You have good point.  Discover's credit is no better than NFCU or PenFed credit.   So to heck with Discover.

Re: UPDATE- Finally off AMEX blacklist on New Years!

It sounds like you MAY be able to get off the AMEX blacklist anywhere between 5 and 10 years after burning them? The easiest way to see is apply and if your are on the blacklist they won't even bother to pull your report? If you apply and see a HP, I guess your no longer on the blacklist. I wonder if this holds true for settlements as it does for BKs. Interesting either way.

The OP states that his BK was discharged in 2007 so it would be around 9 years. As this thread is now nearly a year old it will be closed to further comments.
