Upgrade WM to Discover = CL Decrease!???

Was offered upgrade from Walmart Store Card to Discover. Read a few posts about others getting the same offer with all positive results. A lot had reported CLI's in addition with the upgrade. I didnt fair as well, my upgrade resulted in a credit limit REDUCTION of 500. Kinda bummed and confused. Just wanted to share my experience so someone else isn't as shocked as I was. I never gave a credit limit reduction a thought!

What!, really.... First time heard this one, just dont bother to activate it, they will cancel the upgrade and your store card will remain open.

+1 correct most people see a CLI when the account is activated I'm hoping this is the case with you OP

Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

When I log into Walmarts site, it lists my walmart account with limit and it also lists the discover accnt with limit, shows 500 less on discover than the walmat accnt. I think I will call the number on my walmart card tomorrow and find out why the decrease.

How long have you had your WM account?

I'm approaching my 4th statement... balance is $0 I just spent 3 months paying off a $350 0% purchase at Thanksgiving... just wondering when I may start to see auto CLI or an upgrade offer without having to request for either of them.

TRC I opened my walmart in May 2013, recvd one 100 credit limit @ 2 months, then requested one at 4 months and was denied. Denied I guess because of the auto given at 2 mnths. I reguested another increase via the button in December and recieved an increase of 800. The upgrade offer just appeared 2 dats ago. So my experience has been positive with quick increases up until this upgrade. I hope as other have suggested the lower limit is just temporary Good luck, be patient, it will happen for you

That's weird...maybe you should call them. I got the upgrade offer and they increased my limit from $800 to $2000.
