Amex seems to be doing this lately even though they no longer backdate. They put member since 1998 on mine,lol, i wish they still backdated
Congrats on the approval. Yeah your Member Since date will still show the first time you were in the Amex system on your card and your online account, but the date reported to the CBs will be the actual date of opening the account. Also my recent experience shows that the initial card for the primary member sometimes doesn't show the older Member Since date, but subsequent and AU cards do.
