had hsbc - now cap1 , stuck $500 cl forever. 2 months ago cli of $500 to $1000 cl
just req. another cli - 10 decision by mail coming.
checked for preapproval w/sp on credit - site recommended secured card, hmmmm
just asked local cu for personal loan, instead refi'd car for $8000(only owed $1400 on it)
cu also approved $2000 mc (they pulled tu score 688)
ok, so all 3 credit scores 686-688, 1 co in 2011 is paid
no lates since 2011
1 collection for $59 that I should dispute, probaly will just pfd eventually
salaried @34k
always pay cc balances in full monthly
monthly payments $200 for refi'd car loan,$450 rent,+ basic monthly living expenses
so can anyone recommend cards that I will likely get approved for? And how many apps do you recommend at a time?
I've been gardening for awhile and increased cs's by 130 pts. in a year, and since I've got a hardpull I figured I might as go on app spree now and then garden agian.
THANK YOU
Check the pre-qual site for Discover and Chase.
You are good contender for GE backed cards - Walmart, Chevron, 76 Gas Card, PayPal MC, the list goes on.
Comenity bank cards - Virgin America, you could try shopping cart trick for Total Rewards, Express, etc.
try pre-qual for amex and see about a charge card.
Thanks for the help.
I app'd at discover got IT card w $800
also Chase w $2000
What's a good # of apps to do at one time without major damage to creditscore?

for best scoring you have the number of accounts you need now... but if you spend money somewhere that you could benefit more by having a paticular card now would be the time to decide and apply so they all age at the same time.
congrats on your 2 approvals, very nice on the chase one!
Discover you can ask every 3 months if a sp CLI is avialable on your account.
Chase is always hp if you ask so just hang out for a while with them and see if they auto cli.
Congrats on your new cards!!
Congrats OP
Just applied for Walmart cc, only got $150 cl.
How often do they do CLI,are they auto or need to be requested.
How about pulls for cli, soft or hard?
So, I think I'll quit while I'm ahead, atleast now I will be able to have established credit.
Always been told I didn't have enough credit.
Goal is to get a mortgage ASAP,guess that will be 6 months from now.
THANKS
I would stop apping now if you are thinking of buying a home in the next 6 months. It is generally recommended to keep your file free from inquiries for at least 6 months prior to applying for a mortgage. Actually, a year is optimal. Make sure you PIF every month, or at the very least keep balances <10%. My guess is if you do this, your scores will be ~700 (if not better) by this time next year.
Try to get the two baddies off your report....that would definitely expedite the process.
Good luck!
