I'm applying to medical school this year and over the next 6-8 months I'll be making charges totalling anywhere from $5000-$8000 USD. I don't have the cash up front, but I will be able to pay the balance by June 2013.
My first question is if there are currently any 12 month 0% APR introductory offers and/or 0% BT cards? I already have Citi Dividend and Forward so those two are out. I presume my score is still hovering around 700 as I haven't had any recent inquiries and my util is around 8%.
My other question is about the likelihood that Citi would extend the 0% introductory offer? I'm not sure how much longer the 0% is going to last on Citi Forward (and I don't know how to check), but I think I've read on these boards that people have gotten the offer extended for a few months if they had planned large expenses/charges on the card. Anyone have experience with that?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Discover More is currently offering a 0% APR introductory offer for 12 months, also Slate from Chase Bank.
Hope this helps!

Thank you! I was considering Discover More and now after a bit more research I found Citi Diamond Preferred.
I already have Chase Freedom and Citi Dividend, so I don't know if another 5% card (like Discover More) would be worthwhile. Is anyone familiar with the Diamond Preferred concierge service? I don't travel much, but I will (hopefully) be traveling for interviews and I am wondering if a concierge service would be useful?

Thanks! I actually read that thread before starting this one. I've been looking for a low APR card and I think I have a pretty good record with Citi (been with them for 3-4 years) so I might be able to get approved with a decent limit as well.
Are there any other cards like Diamond Preferred that also have a 0% intro period?

ptr... Congrats and good luck on your Med School pursuits. I actually started the thread that has been linked herein. I have now had the diamond preferred for about a month and have already received other and further 0% BT offers. It appears that BT's are this particular card's MO. I plan to shuffle small monthly charges on this card to keep it active. Ultimately this will serve as the consolidation card in my wallet.
If you use the "find credit card" feature on this site (like I did), the diamond preferred will probably be the top recommendation.
It further appears that you already have a relationship with Citibank. If that relationship is positive then that can only help you. As opposed to starting a new relationship with, say, discover just before Med School. Ugh!!!

Yea, I'm counting on my relationship to get me a decent limit (assuming I don't get denied). Will try and phone app tonight after work. Thanks!
Pending further review :/ And everything is closed at this hour I presume.
Woohoo! Approved for $500 only, but they're letting me move $5000 from my Dividend and Forward acounts!
