Re: $100,000 CREDIT FROM VICTORIAS SECRET ANGEL CARD?

I've heard of this happening before. They had a guy on the news a few years back. I think he got something like $500,000 deposited into his Bank of America account by accident. He actually withdrew the money. I think he ended up getting sewed. I was actually surprised. I thought he'd be able to get away with it, since it was the banks fault, lol.

Re: $100,000 CREDIT FROM VICTORIAS SECRET ANGEL CARD?

One of the famous cases is from a guy that constantly received "fake checks" with you have won $100,000 I think. He got pissed and decided to deposit the check and see what would happen. It looked just like a real check. After 10 days the bank credited his account for the $100,000 and he decided he would withdraw it as a cashiers check and put it in his safety deposit box.

About 6 weeks later he gets a call from the bank manager calling him a crook and that he is going to call the police if he IMMEDIATELY doesn't get the check out of the safety deposit box. When the guy balks a little and says he will be down later in the day to get the check the bank sends their "goons" over to his home to escort him to the bank. Strangely he agrees but once he gets there is is again verbally assaulted by the manager so he decides to call an attorney.

Now keep in mind that no one has lost a penny yet....He just had an uncashed check. His attorney informs him that the Bank only has a limited time to demand restitution and it was past this time. As mentioned in one of my earlier post, these laws are in place so that you can't have a bank decide that a check you deposited long ago is not good. That could obviously cause all kinds of issues. For example, lets say you sold a car and someone gave you a check with the agreement that once "cleared" you would let them have the vehicle. Then say months later the bank deducts the "bad" check from your account. They have a responsibility to clear checks properly.

Now back to the story....The guy ends up keeping the money because of the treatment received from the bank even though he agreed to and planed to give it back initially. :smileylol:

A good while ago I charged somewhere around $1500 on my credit card. Initially it was pending but then fell off. I got a call something like 6 months later from the company I originally placed a charge with and luckily for them, all they had to do was re-run it with the authorization code to get it to go through. No big deal.

I did however once put a deposit down via check with a builder. It was over $1,000 and it was to be used to have an architect re-draw plans. The builder a day or 2 later told me they really couldn't accommodate what I was asking for to fit on the lot properly (small lot). I didn't even think about the check at that point. Then, after 2 years, all of a sudden I get a mysterious check go through my bank account. I didn't have a clue what it was for but after investigation it was found to be that 2 year old check. I had the bank get the money back due to the check being "stalemated" which is over 6 months old and is no longer considered good at that point.

Re: $100,000 CREDIT FROM VICTORIAS SECRET ANGEL CARD?

Let's not lose sight of what's really going on here. The OP has a promotional balance with a credit of $99,999. No real money has been given to anyone. ...and if it does happen to be deposited into a bank account, the OP is probably going to want to give it to me anyway just because I'm so sweet...

For grins, I just googled and it doesn't look like there has ever been a VS $100,000 promotion.  Although, there are hundreds of PHISHING scam facebook pages that say there are!  (If you google, don't click those, seriously.  I would have gotten several viruses if not for my heavily guarded version of Chrome running on my Mac).

On the other hand, I don't know why it would be listed as "Promotional Credit" if it weren't anything like that.  Anyone else w/ a VS card have a Promo Credit box on their statement?

Did you happen to buy and then return a pair of the runway model Victorias Secret wings?  That would seem to explain the $100,000.  Perhaps you just forgot you made the purchase and then returned them.  Wrong size, too ornate, failed to make you fly...

Re: $100,000 CREDIT FROM VICTORIAS SECRET ANGEL CARD?

Im a teller at a bank and the only main thing we do is place an extended hold until the check is chased. What I recommend the OP is to contanct customer service and let them know once again. Trust me, if the bank finds the error, they will find a way to recover it.

My statement has "Promotional Summary" and in that section the "Promotional Balance" is $0.00.

I work at a bank, ACTUALLY people cant do that. The other bank will recover the funds any way they can. The OP can be black listed on check system. If thats the case, THE OP IS SCREWED FOR life.
