I just did this, put $6500 on a 3% (balance transfer) card instead of using my cash for it. Not everyone would do it but it's up to you. I like the idea of paying it over time and know that I'm disciplined enough to do so before the offer ends.
Edited to add: it was a 3% fee to do it, 0% interest until Oct. 2012.

You're right - I see from your OP that you're not maxed out and will have it down to 50% within the first month's payment - or thereabouts. You may see a FICO ding for 50% utilization on one card, but if you do that'll be gone within - it looks like - a few months.
Looks like you have a good plan that you are comfortable with. It's so great when folks think through their finance decisions. And it's always great to run it past a few like minded individuals - helps you settle on what's best for you.
