Oh well, this happens from time to time. As far as I'm concerned, you can open as many CC accounts as your heart desires as long as you maintain the same discipline that has brought your debt down and your credit scores up. Obviously, you should try to stay in the garden for the sake of your credit score, but your debt level is most important right now, IMO. Of course, those kiddos need clothes too, which always impacts spending...

What I'm trying to say in a not very direct way is that this was a blip on the radar. Don't let it happen again, keep working hard. But it's not the end of the world.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $50,000, Chase Freedom (12/12) $16,500, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Prestige (4/16) $30,000

Thanks all, with my rather "thick" file, one new unplanned account is going to kill me...just made me feel a bit dumb.

We hit the outlet store and got four outfits for less than $60, and I will PIF when I get the bill...
