2 Questions about Inquries

I know that inquiries ding your score for 1 year but does anyone know how much?

Also- is there any way that a creditor will ever remove their inquiries from your report if, say, you app for their card 3 times and get it on the 3rd try would they agree to remove any of the inquiries?

I am super new, establishing credit for the first time and followed some bad advice of a bank employee who told me that if I was denied for their bank's card I should just re-apply 90 days later and then I would get it. So I did that and still didn't get it because my score was too low. Now I looked into my credit report and removed 2 baddies, have been told I will for sure get approved this time around. But these are 3 HPs within 6 months for the same card. WISH I had known about this site beforehand...

Starting Score: EXP 615 | TU 610 | EQ 635
Current Score: EXP 719 (lender pull 10/15) | TU 707 | EQ 700 (lender pull 10/25)
Goal Score: 740

Re: 2 Questions about Inquries

1.  In my experience, a few points.  It's a tiny portion of your credit score.

2.  More than likely they won't as they have permissible purpose to pull your credit when you apply.

Re: 2 Questions about Inquries

while on this subject, does anyone have any idea how far banks usually look at inquiries when you apply for their credit card? Is 6 months application free good enough to apply for a credit card or should i wait longer? I know some may look back as far as 1 year.

What bank are you thinkin on apping for? I been denied for CSP 4 times so most HP on EQ are from chase. Last time i applied they mention i had 11 inqs but in total i had 16 (5 from chase). I dont know if they were counting HPs from them as one or what.

how far back do those inquiries go? the last 2 years, year? I want to get in with Chase so badly, here in Nevada they pull EX (where the most of my inquiries are). Have a total of 18 in the last 2 years but the last inquiry on EX was August 2012 (which was them when they denied me).

I dont plan to apply for Chase again till April of this year which will be about 8 months application free on EX report. Wonder if that is enough time for them to not deny me cuz of the inquiries.

4 inqs were between mid june to end of august. 5th was from that CSP app that i was trying to recon.

thanks for the info, I may take my chances with them then again. If i get denied again then will just have to wait a year and try my luck then.
