Looking back, it's a bit surprising at how willing I've become to pay annual fees. At the end of 2014, PRG was my only AF card, and it was in its first year (with the AF waived). My plan was to close it and use my no-AF BCE instead.

I've paid the AF on PRG for year 2, on EDP for year 1, and don't plan to close any of the Chase cards with waived fees.

So I've gone from 1 AF card that I planned to close to 5 AF cards I plan to keep. I do think I get great value from my AF cards.

congrats.  I'm with you on that one.  I did downgrade me PRG to the green, but I'm still paying that $300 AF on the Diners Elite because it's a hidden TL.  Plus I have a ton of AF cards too.  I'll be consolidating all my chase cards in 2016 after they are at least one year old

Re: 2015 Surprises

My biggest surprise just happened. Approved for a $7500 PLOC with BECU. No hard pull, didn't ask for income, didn't ask for housing cost and, other than eSigning the loan agreement, no docs.

Re: 2015 Surprises

Oh boy where to even begin...lol. I went from having sub 600 scores in January of this year to scores in the low 700s, with only EX below 700 (sitting at 690 still...grrr). I went from two credit cards totaling a measly $2,300 to seven cards across multiple great lenders totaling $22,200 in credit.

Since June when I found this site till now I've acquired:

Chase Freedom - $1,200 (auto CLI to $2,400 couple of days ago)
Barclays Rewards - $2,000 (highest SL at the time; instantly approved and used to do a BT)
Capital One Venture - $10,000 (highest SL and CL to date; also my first visa sig!)
Chase Southwest Premier Rapid Rewards - $3,000 (instant approval and highest SL to date)
American Express Premier Rewards Gold - NPSL (first ever Amex card, applied on a bit of a whim and honestly didn't think I'd get approved. But I got instant approval with a 690 EX)

I also grew my QS that I had in January from $300 to $1,300 ($500 through luv button, $500 through credit steps). My first CC, my WF Platinum, with its plain vanilla 1% back started at $1,200 when I was first approved, and I got steady auto luv throughout these past couple of years. $1,200--->$1,500--->$2,000--->$3,500.

I never used to care much about credit. I mean I knew it was important, but I didn't realize just HOW important it really is. As a result I studied and read up a lot on here and learned a lot, and I'm applying everything I know about it to my life as well as trying to help out others on here and in real life with their credit lives.
