2016 AMEX PRG Fee

I received my Annual Fee for my PRG card in April 2016. The fee charged was $175.00.

It was my understanding that the fee was going up to $195.00 in 2016.

Was this a mistake, was I undercharged?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Yep, same thing happened to me. I was charged $175 instead of $195. I did not ask AMEX why. I just paid it LOL

Re: 2016 AMEX PRG Fee

The fee will always be whatever the agreed upon amount is when you apply. Each card has different fees. Right now there is one that is $195, $175 and $165. The CSP has different amounts too. Most of the time it stems from your original sign up business.

Re: 2016 AMEX PRG Fee

So your Annual Fee is grandfathered in from when you signed up? Meaning it will never increase?

Re: 2016 AMEX PRG Fee

While certainly not an official policy, I have noticed over the years of annual fee increases that those with the old fee were grandfathered for ~1-2 years before being assessed the new annual fee. As for why this happens, I don't know. Please go on the assumption, though, that next year will be billed at $195.

Hope this clarifies a little :-)
