3 Goodwill Letters to Household So Far

This is for my 30 day late pay exactly six months ago. I started sending GW letters to them within the last two months. They haven't removed it as of yet.

Come on people, give me some encouragment here!

Should I keep going? Prepare another letter now?

You should GW HHB once a month until they relent. Just be aware that it may take years.

Your 30-day late is still fresh and you haven't been GW'ing very long. Keep writing!

Have you hit the CEO or VP's yet?

Try to work your way up the ladder.

I haven't. I'm sending the letters to the address listed on my credit report. Household is responding, but not favorably:

"As we report information that relates to the actual credit experiences that we have had with you, it is not possible for us to delete this information."

Today I sent GW letter #4 to the same address.

Where would I find contacts for the higher ups?

If I were you, I would post this question on the "Rebuilding Your Credit" forum. Those folks are experts at writing Goodwill letters. I believe there are sites they can give you to find names and addresses. There also may be some addresses stickied at the top of that forum.

Is HSBC publically traded? If so, you can get the names of their CEO, Treasurer, etc. in their stock filings (try Yahoo Finance). I don't know if it will help, but someone higher up might grant a goodwill delete just to get rid of you.

We've only tried this once. But we were lucky. Local credit union. We got one month behind on a payment about 6 years ago. Before the reporting was done, it reported as 10 lates. It reported late until we caught up. My husband recently went and sat across the desk from the director of the credit union. When he asked her about deleting, she said, "We do that all the time." We had 8 lates still showing, and...bing...they were gone.

It was a humbling experience...but couldn't have turned out better.

Why are you sending GW letters FedEx?  Your asking for a favor.  FedEx to me seems like its a demand and not a request.  just my $.02.

FedEx is my shipper of choice, always has been.

I doubt my method of shipping has any bearing on their decision.

I only ask because most people that I have read posts from are sending upwards of 10-15 gw letters to a single company.  Over time spending the money to FedEx a request that at times many are just throwing in a file will get very expensive. I have sent over 10 GW letters to Target and have gotten 3 responses of NO.  The letters have cost my less than $5.00.  But to each its own.
