eso510: I hate to say this but if you go on an app spree, it may be another year before you see 701 again. I'd garden a little if I were you to gain some ground before stressing out your score with hard inquiries.

I am planning my next app with a cobranded store card handled by US Bank or possibly Barclays. I too, am waiting to hit 700 before I apply. From what I have learned here, I suspect 700 score would qualify.
I would limit the spree to 2 applications.
Score isn't everything.
When I broke into the 700's a while back, I still had a couple of baddies on my report and was constantly denied for credit cards due to those baddies.
Score is only 1 factor they consider when trying to evaluate your credit worthiness.

Very true, I have a 774 EQ FICO perfectly clean report and was declined a Discover More a week ago due to, too many inq's, I called for recon, explained the inq's were from 3/16/2010 when I was rate shopping for my car (12 inq's total) was put on hold, she came back and said Congratulations you're approved.
So yeah, scores are only ONE factor, whats in your report is a bigger factor IMO.
