5-7 day message (does this equal a recon?)

I'm curious how others here view this.  If you apply for credit card and get 5-7 day message.  When you call the underwriters/backdoor number to discuss your application, do yall consider this a recon?  I think that the term "recon" is only applicable if you were denied.  What are yall's opinions on this?

Re: 5-7 day message (does this equal a recon?)

I think only if denied it's a recon. I had to call for my CSP but they hadn't even reviewed my app yet. I didn't consider that a recon just a slight nudge to get them to make a decision.

+1

The 5-7 day message means the automatic system isn't able to approve you and your app is being sent to a manual review.  I think there may be some advantage to calling in as you did so if any questions come up you can answer them at first manual review.  It saves a denial and recon.

Re: 5-7 day message (does this equal a recon?)

I'd agree with the above that it's a manual review. If you call a credit underwriter to see the status, it's just that.  After you get to the approved/denied part is when you hit recon status.  If you are approved and like your limit, no reason to inquire with them anymore.

Re: 5-7 day message (does this equal a recon?)

Good. My ego is saved a little. I had to call in on my It and BCP apps after getting the review message. My only recon remains my drapped freedom app.
