If you got approved that quickly for a Chase card you should actually try for the Discover IT card right away, as it compliments in some ways the Freedom card on the 5% cash back categories.
Just because you have never been pulled by TU or Experian doesn't mean you don't have a score there. The accounts you do have and have had do report to more than one bureau!
If you do try the Discover card and they deny you, then simply call them for a recon and ask if they would even consider you for a low limit. I got denied by Discover and through the recon got the card for a $1000 limit. I did not get approved for the Freedom and had to recon that too. The fact that you got the card without a recon might suggest that you have a better opportunity. It might have simply been who you were applying with before as to the reasons why you did not get approved.
ALRIGHT!!!! Here we go
Cap 1 Secured card - 316.00
OneStopPlus.com - 750.00
Walmart - 400.00
DISCOVER IT - 1000.00!
Chase Freedom - 3000.00!!!!!!!!!
When the customer service rep said i had a 3000 limit I about fell over!!! But i am definately done. I believe i have gotten into some pretty decent banks and hope to gain a great relationship with them and i'm sure my credit score will probably take a nose dive but within 1 year i should be alright.. Thanks everyone at this bored yall have been great!!!!!!!! Can i get an invite to the garden now LOL!!!
CONGRATS!!!!!
Your well on your way with those approvals!!!!
Let me also state that i have been with my current job (Publix Supermarkets) For 9+ years so that may have something to do with it as well. The thing that shocks me the most is it was definately not my income because all i make a year is 26308.00.. Plan to take very good care of these cards and not screw up.. 26 years old here
@OP - Are you currently rebuilding, or did you have any pre-existing line of credit "i.e a loan"? Or are you just new to credit? I got denied the other day for a Discover IT card couple weeks ago, so I'm curious. I think after my next statement, I might try to take a stab at something. Congratulations on your endeavors thus far!
Reading that you got the Chase Freedom with that limit is a shocker with so little history. I read of people getting denied with more history than you and even with recon they end up with very low CL. This does tempt me and makes me wanna apply, but I'll just apply my itch cream and wait til January to do my little app spree.
@Warjar,
I am assuming that since i got such a great limit with chase that they pulled me Equifax score which is a 708 FICO. I had a 1500.00 loan from badcock 3 years ago and paid that off in about 1 year and 6 months. Then all i had after that was a Capital one Secured visa card initially i only got a 251 credit limit but increased it to 316 about 3 weeks ago. I do not have a TU FICO yet because my TU report is so limited (5 Months) because badcock does not report to TU (Atleast where i live in florida).
