After 5 years of rebuilding, I'm so ecstatic to share my recent success for September! I had some student loans that finally fell of my report and gave me a huge jump in score. Previous to September, I had a few store cards and an FP card with CL of $450. My UTL was always around 5% and PIF.
My new additions:
Chase Freedom - 2K
Amex BCE - 2.5K
Amex True Earnings - 2K
Walmart - 1.5K
Discover - 13K
As a result, I said thank you and farewell to my FP card today!!!! It served it's purpose during my rebuilding years but now I can finally say goodbye to AF fees!
Off to the garden I go until my Amex cards turn 61 days old and ask for a 3X CLI...

That's an awesome Discover starting CL!!
Thanks LS2982!
I had a card with them around 1998 or so. It was a small CL if I remember correctly. Too bad they don't backdate (AFAIK). I literally fell off my seat when she told me my limit!

Same thing happened to me. I had an account in '98 or '99 and closed it. When Discover accepted my app this year, the limit was completely disproportionate to anything else I had. I've tried Amex-like backdating with them a couple of times. No dice. I suggest they initiate the practice every time I talk to customer service.
GOOD FOR YOU!!!
Thanks!!
@djrez4 - I agree! All you can do is ask and the worst they can say is no...
Congrats
