I think it varies from card to card (and person to person), which one gives a statement credit? On one of my cards, I got:
Summer may have just started, but with this special offer, now is a great time to stock up on your back-to-school essentials! Earn 5 ThankYou Points per $1 spent on back-to-school purchases at clothing, electronics and computer, office supply and department stores. Earn up to 2,500 additional points, through 09/30/13.* Enroll now!

Since this is capped at $25, I wasn't too excited, but enrolled and used it anyway....

what Citi CC do you have? I have the Citi ThankYou Preferred card and I just logged into my account and I don't see this promotion. My account is 15+ years old.

Got the same promo. Just bought $500 worth of GCs from Office Max, and called it a day.

At least yours is a statement credit--actual money! Mine is for stupid TY points.
But Open, if you had kept your premier, that $25 could have been redeemed for almost $34 on travel (until Oct)! Think how life changing that would be!
