Re: 6 months? Really??

What number did you call?  Was it the regular customer service number or the recon number?  They denied me because I applied for the CSP only about a week after getting approved for the United card.  After speaking to the recon department I was approved.  She did tell me about the 6-month "rule" but they can always reconsider.

Re: 6 months? Really??

The CSP is for $12,500???

I wonder if they would have been open to the idea of opening a Freedom and transferring some of the CL from the CSP into it.

I called 888.270.2127 for the app recon and then I called 888.245.0625 for the credit analyst about an hour later. I do have about $35,000 in new credit in the last 60 days so I guess I understand. I just want what I want. :smileyfrustrated:

Re: 6 months? Really??

Hello Adavis, Just wanted to let you know that the 6 months rule isn't set it stone. Def depends on the CR you are doing the recon with. I was approved for a Freedom and and app for a CSP a week after (denied online), called for a recon twice, a few days after the app and they denied me, called for a recon a few days before 30 days up on the app for CSP and she was able to approve me--even though she did mention that I just recently opened a chase freedom and was about to decline me, she asked me why I wanted the CSP. I told her I wanted the trifecta since I had a chase checking and the freedom, I wanted the CSP for the travel rewards and I mentioned that I would then use CHASE cards all the time and put away my AMEX and bofa cards (so maybe that helped). She approved me for 5K on that recon. Hope this helps, keep calling until you find some that sounds like they WANT to help.
