674 FICO. Want to get first card.

Chase will not...they specifically state revolving credit. Prior to last Sept, I had 2 student loans - reporting forever- a paid off mortgage, 687 EQ, an AAOA over 8 yrs an auto financed with Chase and I was denied. Reason, no revolving credit. So, I added cc's and sure enough 6 mos later I was approved for the Freedom.

IMO I don't think the OP should risk "getting lucky" and rack up HP denials.

The smartest move is to get a sure thing...wait 6 months and then get whatever card you want.

Hold on! I just realized that the OP's quoted credit score is not a FICO score - he/she got the score through Experian!

So it may turn out that his/her score is very different from 674.

It is FICO; I got it through Equifax.

The student loan is Federal and does report. My payment history is perfect and I have no other debt or credit history. I bought the score through my Equifax annual report.
