6th month mark....

[ Edited ]

I checked my EX plus score (FAKO) today and it went from 571 to 647... the only changed that I noticed was my chevron card that hit it's 6th month.... does anyone get a score boost on credit cards that hit the 6th month mark????

my FAKO last week til yesterday was 571 and AMEX fico was 657.... since it's 647 now, I wonder if my EXP is finally @700.......sucks we can't buy EX fico...

Edit: nvm, my chevron is only 5 months...i wonder what gave it a boost

Generally speaking, six months is the first "seasoning" boundary that is pretty accepted, though if that were FICO I'd suspect something else changed too.  FAKO scores YMMV, and 571 to 647 on any score sounds to be more than that.  For reference I saw something like 13 points on EQ Beacon 5.0 when my tradelines ticked over six months, and that was even when I'd had a non-trivial increase in my reported balances that month.

Starting Score: EQ 561, TU 567, EX 599* (12/30/11, EX lender pull 12/29/11)
Current Score: EQ 04 683, EQ 8 690, TU 710, EX 715 (01/01/15)
Goal Score: 700 on EQ 04 (01/01/16)

Re: 6th month mark....

a lot of those fakos care about the average credit limit per line or the total amount of credit availabe. Fico only cares about the ratio.

Re: 6th month mark....

Don't forget inquiries start losing their effect at 6 months also. So that inquiry on your Chevron account may have something to do with it.

In My Wallet: Amex BCP (12/12) $22.200, Cap1 Quicksilver (6/12) $14,000, Chase CSP (4/14) $12,000, Barclaycard Rewards (5/13) $10,500, Citi Forward (12/12) $9,600, Chase Freedom (12/12) $5,000
