753 Baby!

Well, apparently, I have arrived!  My goal was to reach a 750 FICO score.  I recently converted my Discover Open Road to an IT.  When I spoke to the CSR, I went ahead and asked for another CLI (pretty sure I wouldn't get one, they had auto-CLI'd my a few days prior.  She said it was not available as I had just received one, but if I wanted a hard  inquiry it might be approved.  I said no thanks.  Today I get home from being gone all week, and my wife tells me there's a letter from Discover notifying me I had been declined for a CLI.  I take a look and there it is.... THE SCORE! 753  Wow. Best denial letter I've ever received.

On a side note, I didn't realize they got a score from a soft pull.  It must have been one they had on file. The CLI request was on 2/16, but the report date was 1/20.

Re: 753 Baby!

Just a few years ago I wouldn't have thought it possible. At least I learned from my mistakes as a young adult (using the word "adult" loosely). I have a much greater appreciation for credit now. But, yes it does feel good.
