Re: 6 new accounts in 4 weeks, FICO down to....

Thanks for the update txjohn.  You and hauling were the inspiration for me to update and add advantages accounts.  My mix is now:

  • 4 credit unions (CSUN, E1, Alliant, and PenFed)
  • 2 small conservative banks (Simmons and First Command)
  • 3 large banks (Amex, Citi, and Wells)
  • 1 large conservative bank (US Bank)

With inquiries, new accounts, etc. I lost 6 points so far on each of EQ and TU.  The last three CUs are due to report, so I expect a further hit.

My objective was to do it in one period of time (Feb-May), as I requested and received line increases in all existing accounts at the same time I added the others.  My AAoAs is now at about 6+ years and I don't anticipate that I'll need to do any more ap or cli activity in the near future.

I am appreciative of the example that you set and thank you for sharing the strategy and great results.

Congratulations!

Man Txjohn,

How do you keep up with all of those old and new accounts?

I only have seven and will be closing maybe two in a year.
