She has a green AMEX already but was looking to add the Delta Gold and the BCE

That's a different case

for Amex customers

SP if denied HP if approved

EDIT when did she get the green?

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: AMEX 1 HP for 2 apps?

Have a question about this ...

Recently approved for a BCE ... thinking about trying to hit up the 2 for 1 but not sure whether or not the additional ding to AAoA (I've already hit it pretty hard) is worth an account that I honestly won't really use.

I've seen various info about charge cards and FICO scoring - would adding a charge card to revolving / installment bolster the FICO scoring algorithm or are they scored the same as any other revolving account (without factoring in a CL).  If I can push my score up a little bit i'll qualify for lowest terms on a home which would definitely offset the AF I would pay on a charger.

I don't see how a new charge card is going to increase your credit score.

Re: AMEX 1 HP for 2 apps?

I wanted to know whether or not a charge card was considered a "mix of credit" i.e revolving vs installment, or if it would be scored as a revolving account.

I'm not asking if my score will automatically increase because I get a charge card.

Depends on the scoring method being used. It would be in the revolving category I believe but with the exception of some old methods it does not factor into util. At least that is how it was explained to me.

Re: AMEX 1 HP for 2 apps?

@ ^^ New account could boost score if util went down and with amex it is possible that AAoA goes up depending on situation.

I was going to ask about the 2:1 HP question so I am glad I saw this raised.

I am looking to app for Costco TE and if approved PRG.  Two questions

  1. Is there an amount of time that would be too soon post Delta approval ( my first statement cuts monday) and I already hit the spend limit and was credited the 30k miles.  I posted a payment and will post a second payment to bring the reported balance to $100 for the statement cut.
  2. Does it make a difference to app in person at the service desk as opposed to online.  I have read yes app in person.

I am waiting for the statement to cut to see if i get a score boost myself since adding Delta---> My util dropped to 3% due to added CL and AAoA went up 4 months in my file.  2 more AMEX accounts would push AAoA another 8mos.

Re: AMEX 1 HP for 2 apps?

I think it is scored as revolving but does not affect Util because the balance does not carry forward due to PIF required.
