Hey guys,
I know that this is a widely discussed topic, but I wanted to get some quick advice on my particular situation.
My 61 days on the AMEX TE will be coming up in a couple of weeks and I want to maximize my opportunity for approval. My FICO score has gone up about 30 points since original approval and is now sitting at 690. Here are my current stats on accounts. No lates, no bad accounts ever.
Cards...
AMEX BCE, $10k CL, $3k balance (used it for a balance transfer at 0% for 15 months)
AMEX TE, $2k CL, $800 balance
CU Visa, $1k CL, $0 balance
Quicksilver One, $1k CL, $0 balance
Victoria's Secret, $750 CL, $0 balance
Nordstrom Card, $500 CL, $100 balance (first in store purchase, card has not yet arrived)
AMEX TE (AU), $1200 CL, $900 balance
Best Buy Card (AU), $3300 CL, $2300 balance (0% financing on our laptop)
Old Navy Visa (AU), $2700 CL, $0 balance
Freedom (AU), $500 CL, $0 balance
We will PIF both TE cards (mine and my boyfriend's) before their statement dates and the Nordstrom card will be PIF as soon as the card arrives, so my only balances will be on the BCE (which is less than 30% util) and the Best Buy card.
As you can tell, we use our TE cards A LOT (the majority of our spending is gas and restaurants) and I want this CLI primarily to avoid continually reporting a high util on this card. As it stands now, how good do you guys think my chances are for 3x CLI approval?
Thanks in advance and let me know if you need any other info from me!
Your util. is over 21%. I don't know how much it will affect the decision, but I try and get mine below 10% when requesting a cli.

Thanks for your reply! I agree, but since I'm expecting it to be about 6 months before my util would be at 10%, I figure I can always request again then if that is the reason for denial, because I will have exceeded the 90 day waiting period. Does that make sense? I know that AMEX prefers low util, so if I am declined the CLI for that reason, I won't be shocked, I'll just whine for a moment and then ask again in a few months.
I just got my 3x and had 2k/3600 on amex and around 30% overall. If its going to be >90 days until your util is down just try when it's time and see.
