I've only had Amex refused a couple times. Mainly our dogs vet and New China restaurant.

I've found Amex to be inconsistant on fast food rebates. Taco Bell is good for 2% rebate, Dell Taco is not. Jack in the box is okay, Pizza Hut is not. Some Taco Bells serve Pizza Hut pizza. Wonder what would happen there? Seems to me if I can feed my family inside Pizza Hut and spend $75, it should be good for rebate. =)

What AMEX card?

TE.... wouldn't all amex cards classify the same for restaurants/fast food? I only get 1% at many fast food establishments. Places that my BofA card will give me 2%.

That's odd.  Never had a problem with my TE.   Anything that falls under restaurants, be it cafe or bar or fast food, gets the 2%.  The only thing I could think of is if the restaurant was inside of another business or if the franchise was just weird.   Del Taco is always 2% for me.

Come to think of it.

Del taco is 2pts for me on the BSP.

It could just be your local franchises.

BTW, if you haven't experienced In N Out yet, make sure to fix that if you're ever in a location that has an In N Out!

Tried it several times but still don't get the cult like following it seems to have with Californians.  That said, I can't think of any fast food burger that I care for.

I think you answered your question.   Smiley Wink

IMHO, the popularity stems from their use of fresh quality ingredients, their reasonable prices, and their suprising amount of versality for such a limited menu.   If you don't like burgers, maybe you should have their grilled cheese sandwich (basically, the burger without the meat).

Re: AMEX Accepted at In N Out

I like In and Out Burgers.  I went to IN and Out Burger when I was LA. There is going to be one over here in TX. I don't have to go to LA. Smiley Happy  I am glad they take Amex. Last time, I had to use my US Bank Cash+.
