I am a new AMEX card holder - it hasn't even reported yet!
I have a balance on a Firestone card of about $480 that I won't be able to pay off before the promo period ends and am thinking about transferring it to my AMEX (I have until 4/21 to do the BT).
Are they sensitive to BTs on new accounts? I need to have it paid by 4/15 on my FS card but can pay it off by mid-May on my AMEX. So it won't sit for long, but I don't want to do anything to jeopardize my 3x CLI (which the 61st day is 4/21, which is the last day for a BT as well).

The only thing that would spook them is if you made the BT, continued adding charges to the card, and were making minimum payments. If you BT to the card, don't add additional charges, and pay more than your minimums, you're exhibiting good borrower behavior, and likely to be rewarded.

Mine was super easy and quick... done in less than one calendar week! And I did the transfer 3 days after receiving the card! Buuuuuut my 61 days hasn't come up yet so I guess I can't answer your real question. But why not just wait until after its paid? It's only one more month... or am I missing something important?
Oh that's a good point. You're right, the transferred balance would sit there for no more than 3 weeks after the "61 day" date so I can just wait.
Isn't it funny how sometimes the simplest solutions escape us?!
Good to know!!
