Re: AMEX CLI question

So what is better ? Getting another amex first?
If i get another amex should i get the 3x cli after 60 days or ask cli on the old card?
Can you apply for new card and also get the cli on another card on same day? And if yes what is better? First to do a cli and then the app for a new card or the other way around?

If my old card has $13,200 limit will i get a card with similar limit?

You can ask for a CLI (3X) with one card then you would have to wait for for another one on another card.

YMMV but no? I had a BCE with a $1,000 limit at the time and than I got a ED with $4,000.  When I got my hilton card my ED was $12,000 and my BCE was at $9,000. The Hilton got a CL of $2,000

My Cards: Amex BCE: $9,000, Amex Hilton HHonors: $2,000, Amex ED: $12,000, Barclays NFL extra points: $3,000, Bank of America MLB cash rewards: $17,000, BBVA compass NBA Amex triple double rewards: $17,000, Chase Amazon: $1,000, Chase Freedom: $9,000, Chase Sapphire: $5,000, Chase Slate: $5,000, Chase Disney: $4,000, Citi Double Cash: $5,400, Citi AA plat: $5,500, Citi Simplicity: $3,000, Citi Thank you preferred: $8,800, Capital one GM: $2,000, Capital one PlayStation: $3,000, Gamestop: $1,150, Amazon Store: $5,000, Ebay MasterCard: $5,000, American Eagle Storecard: $750, Macy's: $500

Re: AMEX CLI question

I think the real question you need to ask is how a new card will fit into your current spend patterns and/or credit goals. My personal opinion is: don't app for cards just because you can get approved, app for cards that will benefit you and your strategy.

Tha'ts your call to make.  Better is always highly subjecitve, regardless of topic.  Which is a bigger priority for you?

That also depends on your specific needs/wants.  Would you not need to know the limit on the new card before making such a decision?

No telling.  Creditors do not simply match limits so the limit on one card won't tell you that.  The limit you get depends on what your credit profile and income quaify for.

Re: AMEX CLI question

So this is my situation

I want to increase my Amex CL from 13,200 to 24,500

I have been with Amex for 4 years, started with the gold card and then received the blue cash at 4,400 and did the 3x CLI after 60 days and since then I never requested a CLI

I had a hight UTI unti last month (35%), and now I paid off many cards and my UTI is at 7%

I haven't asked for a CLI yet because AMEX gives CLI based on their last SP and the last SP they have from me is when my UTI was 35%, so I hope they will SP me soon.

Is it true that when my next FICO score will be on my account, they should have a new SP on file ?

Would you guys recommend me to wait for a new SP to show up or could I be approved for a CLI with the higher UTI they have from the last SP ?

What happens if I apply for a new AMEX card ? will they also use a SP to determine if I'm eligible and if I'm approved then they will do a HP ?

If your EX score is 734 I think your request will be granted.

Re: AMEX CLI question

I dont need a new card but because my credit age is only 5 years and I have been with amex since 2012 it would help me to make my average of age get higher

Im also tryint to get more limits, right now i have around 60k limits.

So what would you recommend?
