AMEX Help

Thanks in advance.

I am looking to app for the BCP in January or February. A little info:

CC/Limit

Quicksilver 1500

Chase amazon 700

Citi DP 3000

Amex Green NPSL

Freedom 500

CDP, AMEX, & Freedom are all 4 months old

Utilization all 10% or less

Inquiries:

EX At least 6

EQ 8

TU 1

AAOA less than a year

3 baddies (2 negs, 1 collection) falling off 7/8 of 2014

My question:

Is AMEX TU friendly?

Will they match my highest limit (3k)?

What do you think my chances are of getting approved? Scores range from 650-700

Capital One Quicksilver MC $3000 6/2011 | Chase Amazon Visa $1400 8/2012 | Citi Diamond Preferred MC $4200 7/2013 | AMEX Green NPSL 8/2013 | Chase Freedom $1000 Visa 8/2013 | AMEX BCE $7000 2/2014 ==> 2/2013

Sorry to say I doubt you'd be approved with those stats.  I'd hold off till July when your baddies fall off.  They almost exclusively pull ex except when they triple pull borderline apps.  Keep using that green heavily building up your internal amex score, then come July with those baddies off and AAoA over a year by then I'd bet you'd have a good chance then.

Chase Sapphire Reserve $32.5K, Amex BCP $20K, Amex PRG NPSL, Amex Hilton Surpass $13,500, Amex Hilton $16,200, Discover it $16,000, Citi TYP $18,900, US Bank Cash+ Visa Sig $12,000, Virgin Atlantic World Elite MC $13,100, Merrill+ Visa Sig $10,000, Fidelity Visa Sig $14,000, Barclay Cash Forward $16,500, Wells Fargo Rewards $12,500, Local CU $7000, Barclay Apple Rewards $5500, Chase Freedom $5000,-- EQ FICO 768, EX FICO 777, TU FICO 781

Re: AMEX Help

Amex ways VERY heavily on internal relationship... How long have you had the green and what you spending on it?

They most likely will only pull EX during app.

Borderline at best, but with those derogatories still there, AMEX may be a bit hesitant on a 2nd CC.  How long have you had the Green?  What kind of usage ratio are you putting on it?

Re: AMEX Help

Without the baddies, I would say wait until your current Amex is 6 mos old. With the baddies, I'd have to agree with the iCloud and FinStar

Re: AMEX Help

You already have the green so I'm assuming the negatives won't matter at this point for a second card. AMEX is unpredictable so can't say for sure. I also believe they pull EX however. July 2014 is just a few months away so wait if you're not willing to risk another hard pull and denial.

Unless it's a BK from less than 10 years ago, Amex isn't known to have problems with negatives recently.

My own approval of the BCP was with the following history:

1.1 years recent positive history

3 months quality Zync usage

Paid collection 2 years old

Paid / released state tax lien 2 years old

Closed 30/60 day late BOFA tradeline likewise 2 years old

Unpaid / unreleased Federal tax lien 8.5 years old

The credit market is relaxed, unless those tradelines of his are astonishingly new and 4 months isn't horrendously so, I'd take the shot in Jan (maybe Feb) personally if I didn't have a mortgage coming up: I'm not the only one that Amex has given second chances to, what are y'all seeing that I'm just missing?

As mentioned in OP, my Green is 4 months old. The first month I put 5k thru for a down payment, which i paid off. Since then, I havent really used it for anything but two dollar coffees. Almost like a bubble gum card if you will, but without that sort of intention.

It will be a SP unless approved, then it will be a HP.

Will they match my highest limit?

And suppose I get approved..will high inquiries or baddies (although almost 7 years old) affect the starting limit considering I have a Green?

You give me hope! I don't want them triple pulling me either! CDP, Freedom and Green are 4 months old, Quicksilver 2.5, Amazon 1.5. Not bad, but not good! Right now I'm in the middle, not satisfied with gardening just yet..I'd also like to get my Chase limits out of the doghouse first...errrrr!
