Has anyone ever used this ?? 

The fine print says AMEX will allow up to 5,000 points to be advanced when redeeming rewards, and you have 12 months to accure the points back to into your account.

I used it in the past, but that was only once.

Yes, I did use it - worked great - the option has gone away for me, although I suspect because I currently have 22K points in there :-)

Yeah.....weird, I am looking and I don't see it either.  I was reading MR mailer from a few months ago which had the info about the advance feature, but perhaps it isn't available now.

May be you can call them and ask them. It might be still available but not as online option.

It is still an option you just have to call in to have the advance done. I also believe you now have to have a reason for it, for instance a 25k transfer to delta but you only have 21k membership rewards points. You used to be able to advance yourself points with no purpose.
