AMEX Optima CLI and Additional AMEX Product

I currently have the AMEX Optima CC after some financial issues with them.  I have a perfect customer since they issued the Optima CC for me 3 years ago.

I have read a lot on the forum that with this card I will never get a CLI, and I most likely will never be able to get another AMEX product.  Well, I just called their customer service department to feel them out and the rep stated that she could definitely put in a CLI request.  Also, she said that she could definitely try for another CC.

I understand that I probably would get denied for another CC with the Optima CC, but she said that my account was eligible for a CLI as long as my credit report was good.

Has anyone actually had success with a CLI with the Optima CC?  I thought it was just stuck at the same forever.

Some have had to close the card first recently others have not?

It appears that most folks who have the Optima (OASIS) recovery product do not get the option for CLIs.  You could try and see if it allows the system to process one.
