5x on flights makes it a little more attractive, but I really don't know why anyone would make the plat top-of-wallet besides buying airfare or upgrades. It's just another card to have for very specific non-spending perks (Centurion Lounge and HHonors/SPG status). And other non-spend-perk cards are more interesting imo, like the Prestige or various hotel/airline cards.
The only reason i'd sign up for plat is to churn a 100k bonus.
Edit: The $200 airline credit that only works on incidentals, from airline billing only, and from a preselected airline that can only be changed once a year is beyond pathetic compared to travel credits offered by other cards. Just embarassing.
