AMEX backdating previous AU

I've been reading alot of posts about AMEX backdating. I was an AU on my mother's AMEX card about 15 yrs ago. She has since passed away and her acct has obviously been closed. Does anyone know if I am approved for an AMEX, if they backdate for previos AU'S?

They do, but you have have to call and ask. YMMV

Other AMEX members have been quite successful in getting this done, but as the previous poster said, for any given CSR, its definitely a YMWV thing. If one CSR says no, don't get mad or irrate, consider asking to speak to a manager, or thank them, hang up and call again the next day.

Many people have been denied this many many times only to call up for the 20th or 30th time and get it backdated.
