My Starwood Preferred Guest AMEX has a $2,000 cash advance limit on a $10k CL. However, getting that amount of cash out of an ATM is impossible these days what with the max amount you can access in any given 24 hours. I've borrowed on my card a couple of times when I was traveling but I wouldn't recommend borrowing on any credit card unless you're doing a balance transfer.
My BCP CL = $25K and cash advance limit = $400.
Interesting because the account is over 20 years old and has
been PC'd twice. I don't recall the limits at the first PC, but it was
$25K CL when it was PC'd from BC to BCP a couple years ago.
Evidently the cash advance limit stays with you even through PC.
AMeX is the last account I'd cash advance from though.
An additional question ? Going through my statement to see
what my cash advance limit was, I saw my APR is 14.24%. I
also see 12.99% as the lower limit available but looking at different
card offerings that most have 15.24% as the lower limit. Do they
currently offer 12.99% to their best cardholders?
I haven't paid interest or taken a cash advance in 20 years, so I
suppose the numbers are meaningless to me.
