Re: AMEX charge due date

I think they are.  What is the issue?  My bill usually comes on the same day unless that falls on a weekend, then maybe it changes. I'm guessing hte times you see your bill come on a different day is because the 6th is on the weekend.

I'm pretty sure that the CARD Act states that they have to give you the same number of days to pay. Since months vary in length, and maybe this takes holidays into account, your dates might vary, too.

I have two AmEx revolvers, and they both vary a bit. Chase and BofA don't, though.

Re: AMEX charge due date

Amex on 30 day cycle for billing so statement dates and due dates will move depending on the month. I assume same amount of days to pay so that must move as well

all my other cards have been the same date including chase and regardless of holidays and weekends. my zync is the only one that varies. is amex some sort of membership that doesnt need to follow the card act law saying it needs to be the same day

I think leap year accounts for this difference. Going forward you should see pretty regular due dates. Though I could be wrong. Smiley Wink

leap year wouldnt matter as the law states it MUST be the same every month. this is the only one that hasnt stayed the same. i am wondering if its because they dont charge an APR

Re: AMEX charge due date

i called amex and they said that because its a charge card there is no set date and the date that is one the statement is just a suggested date of when to pay by. one has 30 days from the date of closing to pay by and that charge cards arent requried to act in accordance with that part of the law. but if i got a regular credit card it would remain the same each month

Re: AMEX charge due date

from all the terms ive read in every credit card agreement when applying for cards it says AT LEAST 21 days from the time the statement is mailed until the total minimum payment is due. every bank has to be at least 21 days, amex is 25 days from when i read mine for bce
