AMEX income question??

Logged in to my account today, message popped up requiring income update.   added my income and submitted.   Is this a possible CLI?

I get those every so often, but they don't seem to be associated with a CLI.  My guess is they just want to make sure you are still have the income you claimed to have--maybe to check for fraud in applications?  My income is almost double what it was when I applied for most of the cards I have, and none of them have increased my limits.

Some issuers say that this is required by the CARD Act.  They have to know that you have the ability to pay, and so several of them do it once a year or so.   I don't think  reporting a big jump in your salary will usuallty cause a CLI, but pretty sure a very big drop would have some consequence!
