AMEX not expediting new cards, at least one CSR says so

I called it to try to get my BCP expedited for vacation next week, CSR (US based) stated that they are no longer expediting new accounts because of fraud concerns.  They will still expedite replacement cards when needed.  

 

Just one CSR's statement, take it for what its worth.

Mortgage $296k/$310k
Autos Loans $29k
Unsecured Lines $167.2k

They do expedite because when I approved with my card I ask if I csn have it early so I can use it for my vacay. And that is only last week.

It took along time for me to get my Delta AMEX Gold back in June. I called and asked where it was a CSR told me "We've run out of the special plastic that we used to make the cards… When we get more in it will be sent to you."

If by expedited Amex means sent via FedEx, I received my new card last week two days after approval. This was after the CSR asked if I needed it expedited and I said no.

Call them back, tell them u want to enjoy ur card and their benifits for ur travel.

I'm not stressing it.  It's not like it will be difficult to hit my $1k spend in 3 months.  Hell, I hit my Sapphire spend in a couple of weeks.  CSP will get the spend for the week on vacation.

A Fed Ex/UPS delivery where the parcel is often left on the front door or lobby even when a signature is required is often not as reliable as a USPS delivery into your private mailbox.  

 

So, in this case, it makes sense.

interesting... here is an excert from an email I recieved from AMEX about 10 minutes ago:
