AMEX reporting question

I just got my AMEX about two months ago and it still hasnt shown up on any of my credit reports. How long does it usually take them to report?

Re: AMEX reporting question

Mine reported directly after the first statement cut.  I was approved 3/14 and they reported to all 3 CRA's on 4/10.  For some reason, I think mine was faster than normal.

Re: AMEX reporting question

Amex can be unpredictable. Two months seem common, but there was (last year I think) a MyFico discussion in which a number of people said the Amexes they got in October still hadn't reported in January. Then they all suddenly reported at once as the discussion was going on.

Re: AMEX reporting question

The day my second statement cut, I got an alert that it was reporting. Seems to be some variance between posting after the first or second statement, but usually not any longer than that.

Re: AMEX reporting question

Okay, I havent had my card a full two months yet. I went back and checked and I activated it on March 11.

I've only used it twice and paid both times as soon as it showed up on the account, well before the due date.

Is the March 11th date the date I use for counting down to my 61 day credit limit increase? Also, will I need a reason for requesting the increase? I really don't have one. When I got the card I thought I could use it for everyday purchases of gas and groceries but after I actually got it I found out that very few places in my area accept AMEX.

Bummer.

Yes, 61 days from that date for CLI and no reason needed.  My AMEX Delta Gold SkyMiles took almost 2 full billing cycles to report.

Re: AMEX reporting question

Do you think the fact I havent actually used my card very much will matter when it comes time to ask for an increase?

IME it hasn't mattered. They want to ensure you are in good standing.

Difficult to say (usage plays a role but no one knows exactly how much) but it may be affecting why it isn't reporting.  My AmEx's have reported on first statement cut but they both had balances.
