AMEX signup bonus

I just met my 1000 dollar limit to get 50k bonus points for my new PRG. Just wondering how long it took for more people to get their sign up bonuses from AMEX, as i want to use my points ASAP to reserve a hotel for vegas in june

It usually is right after your statement cuts. Also, keep in mind, even though you reached the $1000 threshold, the charges must be posted to your account before AMEX system awards the points. Some charges show as "pending" for quite a while (some even for more than a week).

luckily the charges JUST posted today! and my statement cuts tomorrow haha. thanks for the help. hopefully i can book by tuesday

not so fast...my points are showing pending and my statement closed March 12.   I've heard AMEX takes their time and sometimes points arn't released until previous sttemnt is paid.  Mine is 0 balance, but still no points for my PRG

MR points become pending the moment your $1,000 posts for the spend requirement, but it isn't accessible until after your statement cuts.

well..both my wife's and my statements cut on the 12th and 20th...both pending still.

On a side note, anyone else notice Amazon payments counting as 3x points?  Our pending point totals are counting as 3x, will see what happens

when the actual pointts post.

hmmm just checked my AMEX BCP and Amazon payments counted as 6x...this is weird..AP on both my PRG and BCP counted as maximum points.

$1278 of spending, $800 of it was AP..$66 rewards cash.  $800 AP @ 6x,$198 grocery store @ 6x , $116 gas @ 3x, $65 department store @ 3x, $99 all other at 1x = $66 cash rewards.

Amex points don't post until your NEXT statement cuts, so you're always one statement behind. If you need to use them for something you can call and they will release them for you.
