AMEX upgrades?

Not even a month but I PC'd it from Zync which has been over a year

I have had those offers on my page since day one. However I called to ask about it and was advised that upgrades could only be done after 12 months.

Do not upgrade if they are not giving you a sign on bonus.

sign on bonus for platinum is a minimum of 25k MR points. MB platinum is 50k pts.

The platinum card is so worth it. The perks are unprecedented. additionally, the sign on bonus nullifies the 1st year annual fee. additionally, you can use the $200 airline fee reimbursement to buy an airline specific gift certificate for the same value ($200). I sold my airline gift certificates to a friend for face value practically cutting my AF in half not including how much i value 100k MR points at. (year i got a targeted offer).

I plan to transfer my 100k MR points over to Asia Miles 1:1 and use 90k miles for a ticket to asia value at $1600+.

Once January hits, I'll get another $200 airline free reembursement and sell it to my friend who flies United alot, then apply for a signup bonus on the gold. once approved, cancel my platinum before the AF hits.

you can cycle the sign up bonuses on the Amex charge cards every year if you plan it out properly.

additionally, because I've been an Amex member since 2000, and thanks to Amex's back dating policy, my AAoA will only benefit from the cycle.

I think you need to cancel your plat, and then wait 90 days to be eligible for another sign up bonus.
