Does any one know what it takes to get approved for an American Express card?
Depends on the card, revolvers are harder to get than charge cards. Generally mostly clean reports with no recent negs and low utility. They aren't much different than the other prime players.
What about a Green Amex Business Card? Do you Know?
I think you may have a shot at the green card. Business or Personal, the criteria is about the same.
Just don't apply for Plum or any of their revolvers, you wouldn't be approved for those.

How does your EX file look??
-INQ's??
-Baddies??
-Accounts?
In the past 6 months I've had only 1 inquiry on my report. The only negative info on my credit report was 60 + days of late payments for two of my cards back in 2007. I've had a Upromise card for about 5 years now, which now is Barcalay Card, One Business Capital One card and recently the Discover IT card. Those are the only cards I have right now.

Haha!
OP: I would apply for the Green Charge card and build relationship with American Express and then in about a year try for a Revolver if you'd like.
I was just approved for the American Express Green Card today with an Equifax score of 630 and TransUnion score of 629. A friend who works for AMEX suggested that AMEX looks at a lot of information when making its decision and the Green Card is the easiest card to get. Notably, my credit utilization is very low and my income is now relatively high. I am hoping this new account will help boost my credit score as I hope to purchase a home next year.
I also have a Citibank Secured Mastercard which expires 11/2013. I am hoping the addition of the AMEX card will prompt Citibank to graduate my account.
Lastly, I would say apply for the AMEX card and truly, I love these forums! By monitoring my credit via myFico.com and taking advantage of the advice here in the community forums, I have been able to succesfully rebuild my credit.
