Wait, what?! You can do this? I thought you could only receive an APR reduction IF (and only if) there was some promotional offer, and anyways the reduction would only last during the limited time of that offer! How did you even approach the conversation - just asking the first agent that answered? I've had three of my CCs for the last 8-9 years and have never tried this because I was under the impression it wasn't possible!

It's possible with most credit cards with the exception of Chase.
