A few months ago I added my brother to 2 of my cards (August), also my DW added him to 1. As an experiment we added him to the cards that doesn’t ask for SSN (no credit file in August), Chase, Jcrew and Barclay. The cards had less than 1 year history when we added him.
He just received a Capital One letter with an offer for Quicksilver, 0% until September 2016 and 24.9% APR after that. Access to higher line after 5 payments on time.
I remember my offers more than a year ago, and this is a much better offer.
I read a while ago that the bureaus could open a file with only Name, DOB and address. I think the only lender that asked for DOB was Barclay Sallie Mae. So at least there is 1 card on his reports.
