AU impact on Credit Score

Ok wasn't thinking (AT ALL!) the other day when I added myself to DH's Home Depot card as AU simply out of convenience - So I don't need him with me when I make a quick run to Home Depot.....it didn't even ask for SS but popped up on my reports and has caused a 9 point drop on EQ!!  And right after I hit a score milestone due to paying balances.

So my question:  Can I "remove" myself as an AU (haven't even received the card yet) and immediately reverse my score???

The hit might have been a ding to your AAOA. How old is the account?

Re: AU impact on Credit Score

<deep sigh>  July.......I am so mad at myself!  I've been working SO hard and got my new AMEX cards back dated 15 years - now this!  And the balance is just under 50% on that card because we are doing a 0% finance offer on new carpet...

Re: AU impact on Credit Score

Well, it will eventually rebound. The util probably hurt more than the hit to your AAOA. You shouldn't beat yourself up.
You'll be back where you were in no time!
