I finally got something in the mail from HSBC telling me I will soon be receiving my Best Buy card. It also had the disclaimer about not receiving the best possible terms. I just was surprised to see my score of 239 on their scale of 85-394. Anyone know what this score is? Is it some sort of proprietary HSBC scoring system or something else altogether?
How strange... I've never heard of a scale like that. It must be proprietary.
It's a FAKO score. Looks like they use their own scoring system. Not a FICO.
That scoring system makes as much as sense as trying to nail jello to a tree.

Yes, this is their "in-house" scoring model.

I agree this must be their proprietary/in~house score ~ but you have to wonder why would they choose this kind of limited scoring range and low max/min values.
I would be very insulted if I scored an 85.

LOL. I was pretty insulted to score a 239! Even in my worst credit days I was always at least in the 500s!
I can see some people who don't know much about credit scoring and think there is just one score seeing this and totally freaking out.
