Address Association

DW and I are considering buying a home and I've been doing some digging of dirt about the current owner.  I found out that they defaulted on a Discover card in 2005, and another person who lives at the same address had to give an affadavit of identity b/c Discover went after this un-associated person for the debt.  How worried should we be about a bank coming after us just b/c of the address where we live.  Is it common ? Anyone have any personal stories ? DW has perfect credit and I've worked hard to restore mine, I'd hate to have it go to hell in a handbasket just b/c of our address.

About $215,000 total credit among 11 cards

Re: Address Association

I will not effect you in the long run cause you dont have the same ss or name as the other person. Sounds like a lawyer scared the pervious people before you.
