So I applied for a used car loan through Alliant Credit Union. When my loan specialist returned from talking with the loan specialist, she explained not only did they approve me for the loan (with 20% down, I was planning 45% down anyways) but they also approved me for the platinum visa card for 1200 at 12%. I figured why not take it since it wouldn't be a new pull.
The loan rep was awesome. From calling to getting off the phone it couldn't have been more than 10 minutes. Equifax report was pulled. I have a fico (pulled here yesterday before applying) of 678. 4 Inquiries due to joining Alliant and AT&T service and one for my Zync.
Thanks Alliant!
Excellent! Congrats!!!

Once the auto loan is done. I am going to freeze my equifax. I froze my TU report two weeks ago. Then maybe freeze EX but may keep it open just incase I need something in an emergency.
congrats on the double treat! yeah i recently became a member of Alliant and loving them! i don't even remember what the name of the CU i was using before them they approved me for their platinum cc when Patelco denied me and i've been banking with this CU since the early 90s!
That is really awesome to hear.
What was the total loan amount that they approved you for with 20% down?
How many months is the loan?
What is the APR?
@TravellingNomad Thanks, I know. They have been great so far. The reps I have spoken to have been some of the best. As good as my experience with Amex.
@castlefox
What was the total loan amount that they approved you for with 20% down? Well they approved me for $4000 down. It sounded as though it could be higher. I just need a car for my ten mile journey to school each day. I do plan on using $2500 I have in savings though so the 20% down is not an issue.
How many months is the loan? The loan is for 36 months (but I plan on paying it off faster than that.)
What is the APR? 3.5%
