Confirming this as well; still waiting to see if they lodged a HP for the Shared secured loan I opened with them, but opening the account online was a SP on EQ as verified by annualcreditreport pull:
NDALLIANT CREDIT UNION 05/02/14

Please update your final results as I am considering doing the same ... DCU rejected my application last year and I am considering joining Alliant now but if possible would like to avoid the HP. Might also consider this type of loan to add an installment loan on my report for the sake of the credit mix.

I know i am not rev but i opened an alliant account last year, and it wasn't an hp to open account. Its an HP for opening checking or any kind of loan type accounts, including credit cards.
@ mong
thanks for this info. I will wait until some of my inq will fall off in December and then apply....just in case it should be a HP. Alliant is not running away Whenever I add a Barclaycard I will behave for about 6 months .

I like alliant so far, haven't had any issues. I opened checking with them to get interest on my checking account wasn't getting that before. I know its an measly .6% but that was an lot better than the 0% i was getting with WF .
Does anyone know what kind of EQ credit score Alliant wants for membership? I would like to try and join only if I have a good enough chance in getting approved

i would take an look at their checking account as well i know it will take an HP , but you get an fairly good interest checking account if you do DD . .6% is pretty decent compared to brick and mortar banks that offer .03-.05% in their savings....
