Re: Almost everyone turned me down for a CLI

My overall utilization is 59%.  Strangely, Navy just gave me two huge CLIs (I posted in that 48-page thread this morning.)  So here is the reply I got back via secure message for my HSBC card (was not Orchard, just HSBC Platinum but somehow got tracked on their loser site - now managed by Capital One but not on Cap One's site.)  Copy follows:

Would you consider raising my credit limit? I have had the account for many years and it's been managed perfectly. Thank you!

I just posted in the huge "How it works with NFCU" thread that they raised my limit from $6,500 to $12,000.  And I don't even know how much they would have raised it, had I asked for more!

Just so no one thinks I'm trying to be a braggart, I went on a CLI request spree, and here are the results:

Bloomingdale's (a few days ago) raised from $100 (which was nearly inactive, I'm sure it had been more before I let it lapse for a while) to $1,500

Capital One: NO

Chase: No button is even available for the asking

Citi: NO

Sunoco: Application forwarded to Citi, I bet it's NO

Shell:  Same

Amazon: NO

Paypal SmartConnect - can't find the button

Sam's Club: NO

Old Navy Visa: NO

Other Capital One, which used to be HSBC and is still on the old crappy "account central online" site"

Can I request a credit line increase?
At this time, Capital One is not accepting individual requests for credit line increases. For a specific question about your account, send us a secure message online.

GE Moneybank: 866-519-6441 (Credit Analyst/Credit Solutions)

Use this number for all the GE cards... call and ask 1 at a time... if the rep approves one, maybe give that same rep another account and do that too... if you get denied... hang up and call right back just so you get a fresh set of eyes looking at the next account... they pull SP's on the spot and do manual reviews. ASK HIGH just like Navy, they counter and maybe even throw in there, Navy increased my credit line to $12k yesterday and yet I only have $300 on this PayPal Card... How do I get this to be a PayPal MasterCard with a $6k limit? and see what they say and can do!!

since Old Navy is already a Visa that one gives you more reasons to give for higher limit!

Amazon, maybe suggest you are thinking about buying a new computer and taking advantage of the 0% but you can't do that without a $2500 limit and you would hate it maxed out for util so would really prefer the limit be at least $4500 or something.
